Driving While Suspended/Revoked 12 points
No Diver License (State Law Violation Only)
1st Offense (or County/Municipal Violation) 2 points
2nd Offense 4 points
3rd Offense 6 points
Speeding
State Law Violation 3 points
County/Municipal Violation 2 points
No License on Demand 2 points
Fail to Produce Insurance ID 4 points
Stop Sign
State/County Violation 2 points
Municipal Violation when an accident was involved 2 points
Municipal Violation when no accident was involved 1 point
Disobey Traffic Control Device 2 points
Failure/Improper Signal 2 points

How do points affect me?

Once a certain number of points accumulate on your license your driving privileges will be
suspended or revoked. The table below shows the various consequences.
  • 4 Points in 12 Months = Advisory Letter
    • If you accumulate 4 points in 12 months, the Department of Revenue (DOR) will
      send you a point accumulation advisory letter.
  • 8 Points in 18 Months = Suspension
    • If you accumulate a total of 8 or more points in 18 months the DOR will suspend
      your driving privileges. The length of the suspension is shown below:
      • 1st suspension - 30 days
      • 2nd suspension - 60 days
      • 3rd or subsequent suspension - 90 days
  • One Year Revocation of Driving Privileges
    • Your driving privileges will be revoked for one year if you accumulate:
      • 12 or more points in 12 months
      • 18 or more points in 24 months
      • 24 or more points in 36 months
